Happy Halloween!

I belong in a pumpkin patch!

You should see my legs just a-kickin' out from under this thing.
Dad caught my reaction when Momma put this thing on my head.
Momma couldn't stop laughing at my costume. She thought I was so cute!
Dad thought it was funny that I couldn't stop eating my collar.
Oh, I'm so scary!

I was more interested in how my costume tasted than the candy we gave out to the trick-or-treaters!

Bebe loved my costume.

Halloween wore me out!

New PJ's

We had a cold snap, and Laurel got to wear her first footie pajamas. She loved them and couldn't stop kicking her legs once I got them on her!
She finally got still enough for me to catch her sweet expression.

A Visit to the Country

Laurel sits with Aunt Cary, who was in town for her fall break and didn't want to be photographed!
Laurel happily plays with Uncle Will.
Uncle Will and Laurel are all smiles.
Cary and Will were both on fall break and home from college. Laurel and I went to St. Francisville to visit with them, and had a relaxing afternoon. Both were great entertaining Laurel, and we all got to catch up. We love seeing them, and our visit was too short!

Laurel's Christening

For her christening, Laurel wore a gown that has been in my family for several generations. It is made with delicate lace set on a bias down the front, and is really beautiful. It is a very special gown in my family.

Laurel poses with her godparents, Patrick Caraway, John Gahagan, Heather Gahagan, and Emma, who stood in Alyson Curry's place.

The Roberts family: Chris, Jenny, Gracie and Christopher, Ron and Betsy, David and Michelle and Trey, Nancy and Laurel.

The Benton family: Jimmy, Lauri, Cary, Emma, Will, Big Joe, and Trey, Nancy and Laurel.

Little Laurel stayed awake throughout the service, taking it all in.

Laurel's christening was held on October 21, 2007, at St. James Episcopal Church. We chose this date because most of our family would be in town for the special occasion. It didn't hurt that the LSU Tigers played Auburn the night before in Tiger Stadium. Well, maybe it did: we were all exhausted after such a long night and an exciting game!

Laurel was an angel during the service. She got quiet listening to the water being poured, and took it all in wide-eyed as she was christened. When Fr. Mark took her down the aisle during the Peace, she sat up straight and looked around at the congregation! We are so excited that Laurel started her walk with Christ surrounded by so many family and friends who love and support her!

After the service, we had a reception at our house for all of our friends and family. Thanks to all our family for helping us set up, serve and clean up for the lunch! We couldn't have managed without you!

Laurel and her Daddy

Laurel has found her fingers, and can't get enough of them!
Don't these two look alike?
I mean, really. The resemblance is uncanny!

Trey was the first to point out that Laurel is losing her hair in the back just like he is. I had to capture the likeness! I love both of my balding beauties!

Tummy Time

Laurel has a little tummy time.
She looked so cute in this sailor outfit that the Currys gave her!
This is the first time I've captured Laurel's sweet smile!

The Currys Come to LA!

We loved seeing Alyson, Jason, Jackson and Patrick. What a great family photo!

Jackson kept asking to hold "Baby Lawel."

Comparing babies: Although Laurel is four days older, Patrick is longer and bigger, and he moves and coos a lot more. It must have something to do with having an older, active brother!

Alyson holds her little boy, Patrick.

Noel holds Patrick while Will takes a turn with Laurel, and everyone's happy!

Patrick is such a sweet boy!

Aunt Noel helped Laurel kick over this musical apple. Laurel was fascinated!

Gran takes a turn holding Laurel after supper. Her stories kept Laurel quite entertained.

Laurel listened closely as Gran talked to her, and smiled several times while watching her.

Patrick and Laurel loved playing next to each other on the playmat.

Jackson wanted in on the action!

Please check out Patrick's sweet little grin!

I caught Laurel watching me take pictures. She is very interested in the camera.

Pappy and Jackson can't tell which baby is which!

Jackson thought it was so funny!

We had such a great time with Alyson, Jason, Jackson and Patrick during their visit. They stayed with Momma, Daddy and Emma for several days. We loved meeting little Patrick, who is a sweet little boy and very laid back. Jackson was really interested in Laurel and wanted to hold her all the time.

The LSU Tigers played Florida during the Currys' visit, so Jason went to the game with Trey. Everyone else came to our house to watch the game, which was really fun. The game was very intense and nerve-wracking to watch, but our Tigers pulled through!

Thanks for coming to see us, Currys! We had so much fun, and can't wait to see y'all again in December!
