Laid Back

We just got home from our wonderful weekend in Shreveport. Laurel was so good in the car, but was ready to be home. We found her stroller so she could watch us unload the car, and here's how she got comfortable! Just laid back...check out that foot!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Meldrums

Little Jess is on a mission to find Easter eggs.
Murphy and Ethan are distracted from hunting by the interesting rocks!
Laurel's cousins, Emma, Murphy and Sarah, took a break from hunting eggs for a family photo.
Alexis, Gracie and Christopher take a break from the hunt.
Little Sanders leads the Easter Bunny to the hunt.
Our good friends, Alexis, Laura and Jess, loved the Easter egg hunt.
Hannah LOVED the EB!
We had a great time visiting with Jennifer, Ethan and Rodney.
Wiley takes a break from all the hunting.
Trey, Laurel and I had so much fun with everyone!
There are all of Laurel's cousins with the EB: Emma, Christopher, Gracie, Sarah and Murphy.Next year, Laurel will be able to hunt for eggs, too!
She did get to sit with the EB, although I think she was a little oblivious!
Trey wanted his picture taken with the EB, too!
Betsy's good friend, Theresa Meldrum, hosted the Easter egg hunt. Thanks, Tess, for such a fun time!

Easter Weekend in Shreveport

Upon arriving in Shreveport, Bebe finds some toys for Laurel and gets some of her sugar.
Laurel loves playing with Aunt Jenny and Gracie. Check out that face!
Sweet Christopher practices his reading skills on Laurel. Great job, Christopher!
It was so pretty outside, we took a blanket out to play in the yard. Laurel loves her cousins!

On Easter morning, Bebe helps Laurel discover what the Easter Bunny brought her.
Look, Gran! The Easter Bunny brought Laurel your favorite treat: Peeps!

All dressed up for church at St. Mark's for Easter Sunday
Mimi finally got a turn to hold Laurel. Laurel loved playing with Mimi's pretty green beads.
Cousin Murphy loved hugging on Laurel. He was really gentle and so sweet!
Laurel's favorite part of the day: Dinner!

Aunt Jenny took a turn feeding Laurel.

Happy Easter, everyone! Trey, Laurel and I went to Shreveport for Easter weekend. It was fun being with Trey's family. We missed seeing David and Michelle, who were in Texas with Michelle's family. The Easter Bunny visited Bebe and Poppy's house, leaving fun treats for Laurel, Gracie and Christopher, and even hiding some eggs for them to find.
After a beautiful Easter service at St. Mark's, we all headed over to the Meldrum's house for an Easter egg hunt. Guess who showed up? The Easter Bunny! It was really a lot of fun, especially watching all the children hunt for eggs and get excited seeing the Easter Bunny. Thanks, Meldrums, for another great hunt!

First Sippy Cup

Our families couldn't believe Laurel was drinking out of a sippy cup, so we had to catch her on tape. When we first tried it, she wouldn't drink milk from it. But she's loving water! She tries really hard to do it herself.

Centreville Track Meet

Laurel and I went to watch my sister, Emma, compete in a track meet. Although it was chilly, the sun kept peeking through, and Laurel got to try out wearing a hat. (She didn't seem to notice much!) We met my mom there, and had a fun time cheering on Emma. She had a great meet! We are looking forward to watching her progress throughout her last season. Go Emma!

Farewell Weekend

A beautiful Emma with her date just before leaving for prom.
Dad giving Emma and her friends a hard time. I think his comment to the boys was, "Wow, y'all look really pretty." Can't you just hear him?
Laurel loves Gran!
Goofing off
Cheese!
Uncle Steve and Cary get in a good visit.
Dad and his good friend, Mr. Bob, cracking up over a funny story.
Mrs. Suzie and Mr. Bob can't stop laughing!
Momma catches up with her good friend, Mrs. Karen.
Early on Friday, Laurel and I went up to St. Fran. to spend the day with Cary and Emma. Cary was home on her spring break and Emma had the day off of school, too. We had fun together and helped Emma get ready for her Jr./Sr. prom. She looked so beautiful! Trey arrived later that evening and we had a great weekend with everyone.
Dad was scheduled to leave for Bethesda, MD, on Sunday, so the night before he left, he and Momma invited some of their closest friends and family over for dinner. Dr. Kenny and Mrs. Karen and Mr. Bob and Mrs. Suzie kept us entertained all evening. They had Dad laughing at some great old stories, and we even found out some new stories about Momma!
On Sunday, we went to church and the Grace Church family gave Dad a warm goodbye. Then we took Dad to the airport to catch his flight to Bethesda. After some flight cancellations and other headaches, Dad finally arrived in Bethesda late Sunday night. Good luck, Dad! We're pulling for you!

Naptime

Laurel is such a good little sleeper, and usually takes great naps. She has gotten to be so active in her crib after she wakes up, and plays happily for awhile. This afternoon, I went in to get her after her nap, and this is how I found her. She'd kicked her pants off and was laughing and reaching for her mobile. Check out those chubby thighs!

Laurel loves Maddie, and is alway reaching out her hands for Maddie to lick!
Laurel and Momma are ready to go see cousin Christopher's soccer game!
Christopher gets ready to kick the ball!
Christopher takes a break from the game. He plays so hard!
Gracie and Christopher entertain Laurel.

Gracie gets a little hug from Laurel.

Christopher loves cuddling with Laurel.

Chris, Trey and Gracie's band kept us entertained!

Gracie did a great job reading and singing the words to all the songs!

Christopher kept a better beat than his Uncle Trey!

A tired Laurel watches the action while Christopher keeps her company.

Trey, Laurel and I headed over to Covington for the day. We got to see Christopher play in a soccer game, which was really fun. It was a gorgeous day, and we had fun being outside. After lunch, we went to the Piersons' house where Trey joined Gracie and Chris to form a band. It was really funny to watch Trey try to keep up on the drums with the professional singer, Gracie, and Chris held his own on the guitar! Christopher took a turn on the drums, and kept a much better beat!

We had a great day with the Piersons. Little Laurel was so tired at the end of the day, and was asleep before we even got on the interstate! Can't wait to see y'all again!
